Our Identity

About Us

Securing a fundamental right: identity registration. This is the main goal of the IDINA project, which intends to map social relationships of trust as the basis for an identification system that involves schools, health institutions, NGOs or local authorities as sources of information about citizens’ brith and life events.

To this end, IDINA will develop a non-authoritative, effective and inclusive identification platform to reach citizens not served by central state systems, thus creating a more equal and fair society.

The IDINA project is being developed by a team of researchers from the Institute for Systems and Computer Engineering, Technology and Science (INESC TEC) in partnership with the Portuguese Mint and Official Printing Office (INCM).

Currently a student of the Software Engineering Mater's degree at University of Minho, which he entered win 2020 after completing his bachelor's degree in Network and Systems Engineering at Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo. He is a member of the INESC TEC's High-Assurance Software Laboratory, where he works on the development of trust management mechanisms within the scope of the IDINA project.
Cândido's main interest is Cybersecurity, with a particular interest on Risk Assessment and Threat Intelligence domains.

Assistant Professor at the University of Minho, Senior Researcher at INESC TEC, and Visiting Fellow at the United Nations University (Operating Unit on Policy-Driven Electronic Governance, UNU-EGOV).
João Marco Silva has a PhD in Informatics from the University of Minho. His research interests encompass computer networks and information security. He has participated in and coordinated research and innovation projects in digital identity, information security and communication networks.

Paula Rodrigues

Communication Manager - INESC TEC
Is a member of the High-Assurance Software Lab, one of the 13 integrated R&D centers of INESC TEC, based at the Gualtar Campus of the University of Minho, in Braga, where she represents the Communication Service of INESC TEC since 2014. Paula has been leading the activities of communication and dissemination of results of some R&D projects in Computer Science, namely in the SafeCloud, CloudDBAppliance, RISC2, BigHPC and AIDA projects, among others.
Paula Rodrigues has a degree in Communication Sciences from the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Minho and a Master in Marketing and Strategy from the School of Economics and Management of the same institution.

Master in Software Engineering by the University of Minho. He joined INESC TEC, in particular the IDINA project, because he felt the need to develop a solution for a problem that should not affect anyone.
Besides programming, he enjoys riding a motorcycle and playing sports with friends.

Works in the communication team of the High-Assurance Software Laboratory (HASLab), belonging to INESC TEC. Rita has a degree in Communication Sciences from the Instituto Universitário da Maia (ISMAI) and a master's degree in the same field from the Faculty of Letters of the University of Porto (FLUP).

Bruno Patrão holds a master's degree in Visual Information Technologies and is finishing his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He works at the Innovation and Development Laboratory (INCMLAB), as a project manager. He has extensive professional experience in innovation, having been co-author of several projects developed in partnership between INCM and the University of Coimbra.
